WHAT THIS CATEGORY IS ABOUT
In this category you find all the Asian art supplies that we sell in our shop.
We have them classified in the following main categories – Brushes, Seal-Stones and Carving, Learning Material & Inspiration, Paper, Accessories, Ink and Bestsellers.
But in this category, you can find them all together if you are not looking for a specific product but just want to browse the entire portfolio we offer.
When selecting the brush painting products we add we try to select items that are handmade – and we especially like products that are not industrially manufactured but still hand crafted in little workshops and manufactories according to the same techniques that have been handed down over generations.
That way we try to contribute so that the old craftsmanship and skills required to make most of the Chinese painting supplies we provide will not die out and so that these unique products can still be found in the future.
Before we add a product to our portfolio, we visit the manufactory to see how they are being crafted and to better understand the process of – let’s say – creating a handmade collector’s brush. And it is important for us to build a relationship with the craftsmen which allows us to also fulfil special request of our customers for custom-made products and to build a relationship with them.
Products we like are first tested by family members- many of whom are keen artists – and only once we are 100% satisfied with a product, we decide to add it to our online store for original Chinese art supplies.
