The Yu Kou Paper is a paper made primarily of bamboo. More specifically, it is made of very young bamboo that was picked shortly after it sprouted. The bamboo in the paper comes from the Sichuan province (Si Chuan) in central China where there are numerous vast fields of bamboo, a region known as the home of bamboo.

Because of the material it is made from, the paper is particularly tenacious and durable, making it a great and easy to use paper. Like many papers made from bamboo, it has a slightly yellow color and also smells nicely of the tender bamboo it was made from. Mainly used for calligraphy of all scripts and sizes, the paper can also be used for sumi-e painting.

Because of how tough and versatile it is, the Yu Kou Paper is an extremely useful paper to include in your studio, and is sure to come in handy on many different projects.
