The Roaring Wolf is one of the most unique brushes carried by The Chinese Calligraphist web shop, because it is made of genuine wolf hair.

Often, brushes made of weasel hair are labeled as wolf hair because these two types of hair are represented by the same Chinese symbols, Lang Hao. We label high quality weasel hair as wolf hair for some brushes available here.

But the Roaring Wolf is the only brush we have available made of 100% genuine wolf hair. From the hard hair brush family, the large tip of this brush has been specially processed, giving it both an excellent elasticity and the perfect resilience. Because of this, you can feel comfortable writing or painting quickly and still expect reliably accurate results.

Though it can be used for a wide variety of applications, including sumi-e painting, this brush is normally reserved for calligraphy, particularly when working in Cao Shu and Xing Shu script styles.
