Like most mixed hair brushes, the Honor & Glory provides the advantages of both hard and soft hair brushes, creating a versatile and very desirable tool for nearly any artist.

Made of 30% horse hair that is surrounded by 70% goat hair, the brush is both soft and sturdy at the same time, making it great for Xing Shu and Cao Shu script styles in calligraphy.

The firmer horse hair provides excellent resilience, elasticity and strength, while the extremely soft goat hair makes the brush soft and flexible. In addition to calligraphy, the brush also can be used for painting, particularly sumi-e.

In Chinese, the brush is named Zhaoxue, which means to exonerate.
