Dancing Grace is the name given to all paper specially handpicked for the customers of Asian Brushpainter to perfectly match their specific need. This distinction belongs to paper that is of the highest quality, and the Flower & Bird Painting Specialist certainly is no exception.
As you may have inferred from its name, this paper performs exceptionally when used to paint all varieties of flowers and birds. As opposed to paper designed for calligraphy, this paper is stronger, more tenacious and more durable. Therefore, it is not easily creased or damaged very easily while you are painting.
Additionally, the Flower & Bird Painting Specialist shows more detailed ink effects, whether you are writing or painting. Since the goal of every brush painter is to use brush and ink effects to create varying layers and shades, this is the perfect painting paper.
The higher tenacity of this paper results from the inclusion of a higher percentage of bark from the Qingtan Tree (Pteroceltis tatarinowii). This bark is widely considered to be the most desired ingredient in Xanu paper, and including more of it makes a stronger product.
The paper itself is an unprocessed, unsized single-ply Xuan, which makes it exceptionally soft and very highly absorbent. The high absorbency also will allow artists to better control the ink effects in the paintings.
Despite its name, the Flower & Bird Painting Specialist also is great for nearly any other painting subject, whether it is people, fish, or any other focus of a painting. The possibilities with this paper when as used for painting are nearly endless.
Because of its thinness, the paper also lends itself as a great medium for Encaustics, which is the art of painting with hot beeswax that has color pigment added to it. The thinner the paper , the more luminescent the final artwork will be.
