The goat hair renders the brush tip soft and flexible while the stiffer horse hair provides the core with elasticity and resilience. This combination makes the Old Gentleman Yi Pin brush a good choice for those who, having just entered the field of painting, are still learning how to master the use of a brush.

    The Old Gentleman Yi Pin brush is suitable for painting and calligraphy, especially the Xing Shu and Cao Shu scripts. The Chinese name of the brush, Yi Pin Jian Hao Miao Bi, is carved on its dark-toned wooden handle.
