More Info: The tip of this brush is made of Rabbit Hair

Looking elegant and slender with its relatively long, narrow handle, the Moods of Mimosa's physical attributes are not that far removed from what the brush does best, which is to paint fine lines.

Made exclusively with rabbit hair, the brush is in the hard hair brush family and is similar to weasel hair, but is even harder. This makes the brush perfect for drawing sharp and accurate fine lines.

Usually used for fineline painting (gongbi), the brush can also be used to draw lines in Sumi-e painting. Additionally, the brush is perfect for writing small script calligraphy, as it will produce the extremely exact lines required for this type of script.

Made of a dark colored bamboo, the handle of this exquisite brush lends it a natural beauty, making it the perfect tool for anyone requiring fine and dynamic lines in their work. And with its striking looks, it will look great in any artist's studio.

Though this type of work also can be performed with weasel hair brushes, the stiffer texture of rabbit hair will produce a more accurate line than will be drawn with a weasel hair brush. While some artists believe they are using wolf hair brushes to produce these fine lines, these are usually just weasel hair brushes that have been mislabeled. The confusion stems from the fact that the Chinese characters for wolf hair, Lang Hao, are also used for weasel hair. Actual wolf hair brushes do exist, but are rare and, therefore, usually expensive. At The Chinese Calligraphist, we do have one brush made out of wolf hair called Roaring Wolf. Most other brushes labeled as wolf hair on the site represent the highest quality weasel hair, a category known to vary highly in quality from one brush to another.
